With nearly a decade of insurance experience, including the past two years at Beehive Insurance, Channon Judd has become an invaluable asset to the company. However, her journey into insurance was unplanned.
“I kind of fell into insurance,” she said. “I previously worked in the dental industry. What appealed to me about this career shift was the opportunity to learn something different, a new skill. There’s definitely more room for growth in the insurance industry than the dental field.”
Channon’s friend and now coworker, Stacey Williams, first introduced her to the company.
“Her mother worked at Beehive Insurance at the time,” Channon said. “She said her mom really liked it here—the culture, the people, the amazing benefits. So, I came over from Buckner, a much larger organization. Working for a smaller company has been a great change.”
At Beehive Insurance, Channon works as an account manager for a large group of producers. Channon’s day-to-day work involves helping to solve issues with groups, claims questions, enrollment issues, the installation of new plans, and answering any employment or employee questions on benefits that arise.
“I love the relationships that we can build with clients and human resources departments,” Channon said. “That’s probably one of my favorite parts of the job. I’m also constantly challenged. Learning new technology as it relates to insurance and health benefits, especially. It feels like rules are changing on something just about every year. Keeping up with current rules and regulations is something that I continually work on.”
Joanie Hardcastle, one of the producers that Channon assists, appreciates how well she’s able to perform her job.
“Channon is just phenomenal,” Joanie said. “As one of our large group account managers, Channon exbibits a great deal of compassion for our clients. The quality of her work is exceptional. She’s always cheerful and constantly has a smile on her face. She exemplifies her role as account manager by her constant attention to detail.”
Joanie also loves Channon’s ability to build relationships.
“Channon is a relationship builder,” Joanie said. “She has this way about her that draws you in. You want to be around her cheerful disposition. She’s thought of in very high regards by her peers. We’re so lucky to have her here at Beehive Insurance.”
In a field that is constantly evolving, Channon’s dedication to learning and building relationships is a breath of fresh air. Beehive Insurance and Clyde Companies are fortunate to have her as part of the team.
